Afghanistan Inspiration UK postcards and booklet

We have produced a set of prints (size 6" X 4") using selected works from the project, and a booklet which has statements from 47 of the UK artists about their work. You can view the prints and booklet pages in greater detail by right clicking on the image. Note that the item numbers on the cards do not appear on the real thing!
These will be for sale at the exhibitions, but if you are unable to attend either the Greenstede Gallery or the Fashion and Stitch show at the NEC, we will be shortly offering them for sale on the website, with payment via Paypal. There will be limited numbers of both booklets and prints.
Pascale is planning to bring plenty more squares to the NEC for those of you have been inspired to carry on working these pieces into your work.

Pascale's book

Please note, this book cannot currently be purchased from the UK, you need to contact Pascale directly
"There is a new book out on embroidery, which I have put together: "Fëden verbinden - threads unite." It was published by MARO Verlag in Augsburg, Germany.

It has a square format of 16cm by 16cm with 120 pages. It is a paperback edition with over 300 photos, which I took during my visit in Laghmani and 16 of photos which show works from the exhibition "Threads unite women" and scanned embroidered squares. The text is in German and English. By September a leaflet in French will be available for those interested. The price is €20.

Through the sale of that book I hope to make a little money for myself, since I continue my voluntary work for the project. Whoever wants to support me, may order the book from me. That way I will get almost the percentage that normally goes to the bookseller. Promoting my book will also be of great help. So maybe you take the chance to order the book now or by ordering embroidered squares." Pascale

Articles about the project

There is a reproduction of an article from Embroidery Magazine which describes an earlier project 'Threads Unite Women'. This can be found here.

The project survives in part by being advertised, so please do forward onto others the opportunity to support the Afghan project.
